So it is truly fitting to look again this year at the unfolding drama between Maria, the spirited nun and her austere employer- the formidable Captain von Trapp.
Each song, each scene offers glimpses of stunning scenery and compelling characters. Each scene unfolds the challenges Maria faces, the joys and dangers that keep us riveted to the screen. And yes, while we know how the film ends, still we wonder; this time, will Rolf shoot his gun? Will the soldiers find the hidden family?
